Our Committees

The Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is formed to consider issues and make recommendations for the board pertaining to the governance structure of the Alberta SouthWest (AlbertaSW) Regional Economic Development Alliance (REDA). The Executive guides the Board in the development of multi-year strategic plans and also an annual operations plan.

Project Committees

Project Committees are formed as needed each year to carry out the work of the AlbertaSW REDA in three “Core Business” areas:

Core Business 1: Business and Industry Development
The industry sectors that present potential for growth in the Alberta SouthWest Region are

• renewable and alternative energy
• tourism and geotourism
• agriculture and value-added agriculture

Core Business 2: Communications and Regional Promotion
A key to the success of the Alberta SouthWest region depends upon strong community partnerships. As a group of communities it is possible to collectively, and effectively, raise awareness of regional opportunities and assets.

Core Business 3: Shared Services and Planning
Identifying opportunities to share services, resources and information creates efficiencies and opportunities to forge new partnerships and initiatives for the benefit of the region.
