This truly is a special place. Nestled in the far SW corner of Alberta and shaped by wind, fire, glacial ice, and floods, Waterton Lakes National Park is one of the most distinctive mountain parks on the planet.​
Did you Know?
Before the Park was created in 1911, the federal government offered lots at $10 ground rent per year, or $15 for waterfront lots.
About the Area
During the US prohibition, the Great Northern Railway built the Prince of Wales Hotel so its passengers could enjoy legal alcohol in Canada. Tourists boated to the hotel from the US side of Upper Waterton Lake.
