Visitor Economy and Destination Development

Alberta SouthWest leads initiatives to grow the region’s economy with a focus on tourism, energy opportunities, value-added agri-processing, manufacturing, and technology innovation. For over two decades, Alberta SouthWest communities and partner organizations have achieved award-winning success and recognition. Crown of the Continent Geotourism Council/National Geographic

When you explore Alberta SouthWest, you’re traveling within the Crown of the Continent a spectacular region that includes Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park and its surrounding communities in Alberta, British Columbia, and Montana. Guided by the Crown of the Continent Geotourism Council in partnership with National Geographic, these regions collaborate to create exceptional trans-boundary and international visitor experiences that celebrate the area’s natural beauty, culture, and heritage. Green Destinations International Top 100 Global Sustainable Destinations

Alberta SouthWest Crown of the Continent has been named to the Top 100 list for five consecutive years. This designation is recognizes demonstrated effort and continuous improvement in developing the economy of our region; building healthy, prosperous communities in harmony with the landscape.
